Kuhl Unveils Dazzling Gold-Dipped Widebody Transformations for Nissan GT-R and Toyota Prius

The Tokyo Auto Salon witnessed the artistic prowess of local tuners, with Kuhl taking center stage by showcasing an impressive lineup of 18 modified vehicles. Among them, the spotlight falls on two visually captivating creations – the Toyota Prius and the Nissan GT-R – both adorned in an opulent "Elegant Gold" hue.

Let's delve into the transformed Toyota Prius, featuring a considerably more audacious version of Kuhl's existing kit. The standout element is the wide front and rear fender extensions seamlessly integrated into the overall body design. The widened stance is complemented by a sleek splitter, side sills, and a lavish rear diffuser, gracefully hovering above the ground thanks to the air suspension. Additional vents and a subtly styled rear spoiler adorn the tail. Riding on 20-inch Verz Racing VRF01R forged wheels enveloped in impressively stretched tires, this modified Prius exudes a distinctive presence.

Turning our attention to the Nissan GT-R, Kuhl continues its legacy of crafting body kits, with the latest edition tailored for the 2024 model. While it may not reach the extremes of the gold-engraved GT-R from 2016, it certainly deserves recognition for its audacious design.

The new kit incorporates redesigned bumpers inspired by the sleek lines of the 2024 Nissan GT-R. Fender extensions add an extra 30 mm (1.2 inches) of width on each side without necessitating modifications to the stock body panels. Sharp lines extend across the prominent diffuser, side skirts, and rear bumper extension, integrating air channels and canards for enhanced aerodynamics. A new bonnet featuring a large scoop, a modest spoiler on the tailgate, and four imposing tailpipes at the center complete the ensemble. The GT-R gracefully rides on Verz-Kron E04 wheels, coupled with a slammed air suspension. Inside, the cabin receives a luxurious makeover with leather upholstery and opulent gold carbon accents. While performance upgrades are unmentioned, it's anticipated that owners opting for such an extravagant body kit may well seek powertrain enhancements to match the striking aesthetics.

The Toyota Prius and Nissan GT-R share the stage with Kuhl's interpretations of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire minivans, the Crown Crossover, and the complete Vrarva lineup, including the Suzuki Hustler-based IO. The gallery below captures the essence of these modified vehicles showcased at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Nissan GT-R

Among 1969 and 1974, and again between 1989 and 2002, Nissan produced a top performance version of the Skyline sedan called the Nissan Skyline GT-R. This kind of car proved to be iconic for Nissan and achieved much fame and success on both highway and track. Like the later generations of the Skyline GT-Rs, the Nissan GT-R is four-wheel drive with a twin-turbo 6 cylinder engine and has the signature four round tail lights. On the other hand, the GT-R is an totally new model writing little with its Views siblings and is a complete redesign from prior Skylines rather than an incremental evolution; the 4wheelsteering HICAS system has recently been removed and the previous straight-6 RB26DETT engine has been replaced with a brand new V6 VR38DETT. Because of the GT-R's heritage, the chassis code for the all-new version has recently been called CBA-R35, or 'R35' for short (where CBA is the prefix for emission standard), carrying on the naming trend from previous Skyline GT-R years. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname Godzilla,[10] given to it by the Australian motoring newsletter Wheels in its September 1989 edition.

Design
Machine chief creative officer, Shir? Nakamura, has likened the new GT-R to the giant robots of the Gundam series. Nakamura mentioned: "The GT-R is unique because it is not simply a duplicate of an European-designed Sports car; completely to really reveal Japanese culture. "

Nissan's American designers sculpted the rear three quarters of the vehicle, while their European designers sculpted the roofline.

Polyphony Digital, inventors of the Gran Turismo number of motor racing online video games, were themselves engaged in the development of the GT-R, having recently been contracted to develop the GT-R's multifunction screen

Exterior
Machine developed a 6-stage fresh paint process with double clear coat and chip-resistant coloring for use in critical areas of the GT-R chassis. An optional liquid-effect finish employs a hand-polished 8-stage process with product-specific Super Silver metallic fresh paint and three layers of clearcoat.

Specifications
The Machine GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT V6 engine, a 3, 800 closed circuit (3. 8 L; 231. 9 cu in) DOHC V6 with plasma transmitted wire arc sprayed tube bores. Two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) turbos provide forced induction. Types created between 2007 and 2010 produce a manufacturer-claimed engine output of 325 PS (357 kW; 478 hp) at 6400 revoltion per minute and 434 lb? toes (588 N? m) at 3200-5200 rpm. The engine also meets California Surroundings Resources Board Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) specifications. A curb weight of 1, 730 or one particular, 736 kg (3, 814 or 3, 827 lb) with side curtain safetybags is achieved by using a lure welded steel chassis with aluminum used for the hood, trunk, and doorways. A rear mounted 6 speed BorgWarner designed dual clutch i465 black semi-automatic transmission built by Aichi Machine Industry can be used in conjunction with the ATTESA E-TS system to provide capacity to all four wheels and along with Nissan's Vehicle Characteristics Control (VDC-R) to help in stability. Three change modes can be selected for various conditions. Beginning in 2010, engine power and torque were upgraded to 390 kW (530 PLAYSTATION; 523 hp) at 6400 rpm and 612 D? m (451 lbf? ft) at 3200-6000 rpm correspondingly. Models manufactured in 2012 again featured improved engine output (404 kW (549 PS; 542 hp) at 6400 rpm and 628 N? m (463 lbf? ft) at 3200-5800 rpm). In the near future, it is speculated that the GT-R might even be available as a hybrid.
