Dodge Bids Farewell to HEMI-Powered SUVs with the Striking Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI

As the chapter closes on HEMI-powered vehicles at Dodge, the Durango joins the Charger and Challenger in bidding farewell to the iconic engine. Embracing the spirit of departure, Dodge introduces the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI, marking the beginning of a series of Last Call special editions to commemorate the final year of HEMI availability.

The AlcHEMI model commands attention with its visually striking exterior, featuring honeycomb-textured stripes adorned with yellow accents. Complementing the distinctive design are 20-inch Satin Black SRT wheels and a Brembo braking system with vibrant yellow calipers. Midnight Metallic badging, black exhaust tips, and Satin Black "392" fender decals with contrasting yellow accents add a touch of exclusivity.

Inside, the AlcHEMI edition boasts special features such as forged carbon fiber trim and a leather and suede steering wheel adorned with an illuminated SRT logo. The interior further delights with yellow and silver contrast stitching and embroidered seatbacks featuring "392" logos.

Limited to just 1,000 units, the AlcHEMI edition comes in four colors: Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, and White Knuckle, with only 250 units available for each color. To acquire one, customers must navigate the non-traditional ordering process by searching for dealer allocations through the Horsepower Locator on DodgeGarage.com in late February. Allocation availability will be based on dealer sales in January, ensuring these special editions find their way to reputable dealers. Production is set to commence in April, with deliveries scheduled for the following month.

Pricing for the AlcHEMI package is an additional $3,595 on top of the Durango SRT 392 base price, resulting in a starting price of at least $80,185, inclusive of destination charges.

For those in need of a refresher, the Durango SRT 392 houses a potent 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine generating 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.4 seconds, a quarter-mile run in 12.9 seconds, and a towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs, the Durango SRT 392 remains an impressive performer.

While the AlcHEMI edition is limited to 1,000 units, Dodge hints at more special editions to come throughout the year, including at least one based on the Durango SRT Hellcat. Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis expressed the brand's commitment to celebrating the V8 HEMI engine, honoring its legacy in dominating the performance SUV segment with these special editions.
