Mullen Unveils High-Performance Five RS Electric Crossover with 200 MPH and 1,000 HP

Breaking into the competitive EV market requires significant commitments, and Mullen is rising to the challenge with the introduction of the Five RS, a high-performance version of its crossover unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Five RS makes an audacious entrance into the electric crossover scene, boasting dual motors at the front and rear axles, delivering an astounding 1,000 hp and over 850 lb-ft of torque. Mullen asserts that this powerhouse can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under two seconds, with a top speed exceeding 200 mph. The performance is enhanced by a Porsche Taycan-style two-speed gearbox and an intriguing aerodynamic setup, including a prominent rear wing, spoiler, and distinctive front duct.

The model introduces an "ultra-performance race-track" mode, optimizing throttle mapping, powertrain, battery cooling, dampers, and steering feel for a consistent and exhilarating driving experience. The braking system features six-piston Brembo brakes at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear, gripping carbon ceramic discs. Coupled with high-performance 21-inch rear and 20-inch front tires, the Five RS can come to a full stop from 100 km/h in 110 ft.

Measuring 193 inches in length, 80 inches in width, 64 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 116 inches and a ground clearance of 6.7 inches, the Five RS presents a sleek and aerodynamic profile.

Under the hood, a 100 kWh battery pack aims to provide a range of up to 300 miles per charge, supported by an 800V architecture enabling rapid charging from zero to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes.

The interior features advanced technology, including an integrated infotainment system, an AI-based personal assistant called Persona, facial recognition technology, and level 2+ driver assistance tech. Premium Nubuck leather and Alcantara trimmed seats with carbon fiber backs, along with lightweight carbon fiber door inserts, contribute to the model's anticipated weight of 5,070 lbs.

Mullen plans to commence production of the Five RS in late 2025, with sales scheduled to begin in mid-2026. Future SUV variants, including an entry-level model priced at $55,000, are expected to follow suit.
